LLDC Mission Statement
To bring together voluntary sector providers in the learning disability field in Lancashire to ensure a positive and informed influence on service development and arrangements.
LLDC Membership
Voluntary Agencies providing services who are committed to principles of service provision which value individuals, encourage models empowering users and consulting with them, and which support service provision within the mainstream in society, whilst recognising specialist input and arrangements to enable this.
LLDC Aims/Objectives
• To develop a collective informed and knowledgeable voice;
• To influence positively the development of services, service models and purchasing patterns to reflect:
• Good practices and good practice principles
• Known ability to realistically deliver
• Needs and preferences of the Learning Disability Service user group
• Local and individually responsive services;
• To share resources, information and good practice models towards improving services and the range of choice to service users – reflecting Best Value;
• To get involved in Consortium-based marketing and service development where this makes good sense – e.g. to ensure a block contract including a range of choice;
• To represent the Consortium members’ issues and needs and respond to consultation through active representation externally and consultation internally, including the service user groups;
• To work together for the ultimate benefit of the service users rather that any one agency, including developing good liason with user groups and facilitating their development;
• To develop good quality standards through training, models/methods, shared practices and research, including developing shared training and collective research projects;
• To develop realistic specifications and agreed elements within pricing structures for services which support individual-led services, good personnel policies and realistic elements in costs for specialist services, whilst respecting differences in style and staffing patterns/marketing practice to inform contracting with purchasers/commissioners collectively.
