Lancashire Learning Disability Consortium currently consists of 15 Voluntary Organisations who provide services for people with learning disabilities across Lancashire.
The Consortium aims to:
- develop a collective, informed and knowledgeable voice
- promote best practice in commissioning, purchasing, delivery and monitoring of, and user involvement in services
- share information, resources and experience between members for mutual benefit
- act as a consortium where this is beneficial, for example in procurement of goods and services, or in contracting
- be a focal point for consultation with and representation to commissioners regarding members issues and needs
- promote and enable best practice in training and research
- work towards agreement with purchasers about pricing structures and cost elements which allows members to develop their business and deliver excellence
- act for the benefit of people who use services rather than organisations which provide them
- positively influence development of services, service models and purchasing patterns
- work together for the ultimate benefit of people with learning disabilities rather than any one agency
