

The Consortium’s aims and abjectives are:
- To develop a collective informed and knowledgeable voice
- To promote best practice in commissioning, purchasing, delivery and monitoring of and user involvement in services
- To share information, resources and experience between members for mutual benefit
- To act as a consortium where this is beneficial for example in procurement of goods or services, or in contracting
- To be a focal point for consultation with representation to commissioners regarding members’ issues and needs
- To promote and enable best practice in training and research
- To work towards agreement with purchasers about pricing structures and cost elements which allow members to develop their business and deliver excellence
- To foster co-operation between voluntary, independent and statutory sector providers in order to widen the knowledge base of all
- To develop links with unpaid carers, individuals who use services and other interested parties via training, consultation and communication
- In all their activities, to act for the benefit of people who use services rather than the organisations which provide them.
