LLDC is Registered as an Industrial and Provident Society – please ask if you would like a copy of the Model Rules.

LLDC Mission Statement

Lancashire Learning Disability Consortium exists to bring together provider organisations and citizens with an interest in services for people with learning disabilities in Lancashire so that, acting together, they may be a positive informed influence on the development, commissioning and delivery of services.

LLDC Membership

Full Organisational Membership

Full Organisational Membership is open to Voluntary (not for profit) organisations which satisfy each of the following – they;

  • Maximise the use of limited budgets for services by trading in a not for profit model.
  • Deliver or aspire to deliver services in a mainstream, domestically scaled community setting.
  • Are committed to measuring, reporting and improving quality in a transparent manner.
  • Involve users of services in directing and challenging those services.
  • Are prepared to commit time, resources and activity to the regular activity of the LLDC executive committee

Associate Organisational Membership

Associate Organisational Membership is open to for profit organisations which satisfy each of the following – they;

  • Deliver or aspire to deliver services in a mainstream, domestically scaled community setting.
  • Are committed to measuring, reporting and improving quality in a transparent manner.
  • Involve users of services in directing and challenging those services.
  • Wish to attend open meetings of the LLDC

Individual Membership

Individual Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the quality and availability of support services for people with a learning disability in Lancashire. Individual Members;

  • Receive information about learning disability issues
  • Are invited to conferences, training and consultations which may be held from time to time

LLDC Aims / Objectives

  • To develop a collective informed and knowledgeable voice
  • To promote best practice in commissioing, purchasing, delivery and monitoring of and user involvement in services
  • To share information, resources and experience between members for mutual benefit
  • To act as a consortium where ths is beneficial for example in procurement of goods or services, or in contracting
  • To be a focal point for consultation with representation to commissioners regarding members’ issues and needs
  • To promote and enable best practice in training and research
  • To work towards agreement with purchasers about pricing structures and cost elements which allow members to develop their business and deliver excellence
  • To foster co-operation between voluntary, independent and statutory sector providers in order to widen the knowledge base of all
  • To develop links with unpaid carers, individuals who use services and other interested parties via training, consultation and communication
  • In all their activities, to act for the benefit of people who use services rather than the organisations which provide them.
