Mission Statement

To be a sustainable charity and leading community role model that provides high quality inclusive dance leadership, participation, performance and training opportunities for both learning disabled and non-disabled individuals and our company of dancers.

DanceSyndrome dance activities are underpinned by a number of principles:

  • Recognising people as assets by developing creative partnerships between disabled and non-disabled individuals
  • Building on people’s capabilities by providing inclusive dance peer support opportunities
  • Promoting affinity and mutual benefit through the medium of dance by exploring how dance can create social change in individual lives
  • Breaking down barriers between ‘professionals’ and non-professionals
  • Devising dance activities that are accessible through a range of different techniques that increase health and well- being amongst participants
  • Facilitating growth and opportunities through dance rather than ‘just delivering’
  • Pursuing excellence in all that we do in order to and promote creativity and become influential to create significant impact
